Nick’s current role is Sales director at Skills Insight which works both independently and as a Miller Heiman Group Consulting Partner designing and delivering solutions to support clients’ critical business objectives. Skills Insight trains sales teams in the B2B sector mainly in the UK and Europe particularly in Legal and Accounting, Financial Services, Public sector and the Information Communications Technology sector.

Nick’s backstory begins in the City. After leaving the University of Exeter with a degree in Engineering his 27-year city career began at a small Financial Futures and Options broking company. From there on, his various roles include managing the Futures and Option desk at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Leading the Options sales team at Dresdner Bank and again managing the CFD broking team at Man Group, later to be spun off as MF Global.

Nick experienced first-hand the crash of 87 at Drexel’s, George Soros’s taking on the Bank of England in 1992 and spent a year on the London International Futures exchange and was there on the final day’s trading before screen-based trading finally took over.

Nick was lucky enough to trade as well as broke CFDs for several years and for a while he was known for being the most active trader in the UK. He ran trading seminars and appeared regularly on CNBC and The Money Program. When automated trading finally took the edge off his ability to make money, he decided to move on.

Nick retrained with St. James’s Place to become a financial advisor and after a year of retraining had achieved DipPFS status and begun his own practice. After successfully growing this business for 3 years however, he decided Financial advising was not for him and moved on at the start of 2019.

Having grown sales in every organisation he has been involved in, it is Nick’s intention to replicate this success within Skills Insight, the company that he has been a Director of for many years and look forward to a whole new future!
